I Portici Hotel Bologna, Bologna

The hotel had some high points, like superb conditions in the room, but it also had some drawbacks, such as rooms loaded with payable items which can be problematic, especially when traveling with kids.

The hotel room was in a really noisy location, just above a parking area with all the chaos, but the quality of the room itself was excellent, and the hotel staff were super helpful and efficient. The hotel itself is beautiful, but the noise can be a downside.

The hotel offers a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms, with a terrific shower and very comfortable bed, were noisy due to being on the first floor overlooking the street with small windows. Despite being presented as upscale 'designer white,' the room felt big but cavernous with minimal furniture, lacking a homely or comfortable feel except for sleeping.

The hotel was let down by quirky accommodation but was excellent for a weekend away in Bologna. The rooms were initially very small but clean after we requested a change to the type we booked.
